Finally Fall Color

Wow - where has October gone?  I can't believe it is almost the end of the month!  The leaves are turning here, not at peak yet but getting there, however we haven't had even one sunny weekend to enjoy this time of year.  Finally, the sun is out today so I got a few pictures in the yard and on our street.  I bet the mountains are beautiful, but that will have to wait till next year.  Since DH's surgery he was told no long trips so we are staying close to home.

Yesterday our son and family came and helped with the yard work.  Of course leaves were falling as they mowed so there will be lots more leaves to deal with, but at least we got the grass cut and trimmed, old tomato plants pulled up and the yard looks much better.  They started right after breakfast, which was a good thing, because just as they were finishing the rains came again.

We have had lots of deer in the last week or so.  They used to always come at night but lately have been brave enough to come out late in the day to eat the acorns falling off our oak tree.

We enjoyed Miss N this weekend.  Can't believe she is almost 3!  She got new ear tubes this past week, but sailed through it like she has all of her problems.  She's a trouper.  DH didn't get to see her when they were here last since he was in the hospital, so  he enjoyed time with her.

Knit Night

Monday night is Knit Night at Starbucks.  Robin was always our photographer, but sadly she left us to move to Ohio, so I decided we needed a picture of Timmie's Girasole.  (More pictures on her blog.)  It is much prettier in person, the picture just doesn't do justice to the colors.

We had a new knitter too.  Here is Michelle getting some help from Virginia and Gaye.  Welcome Michelle.

So sorry for the glare!

I'll try to get some updated projects this week.

Beautiful Fall Day

Husband is home from the hospital.  He had a quadruple bypass Monday and came home Thursday afternoon.  I was a little leery as it seemed so soon, but he is doing great.  The nurses and doctors on the heart team were just amazing and we have absolutely no complaints.  For 24 hours after surgery he had a nurse with him constantly and they were busy.  I was so impressed because that room was totally full of equipment.  They were constantly taking readings, recording them, adjusting drips and drains and all that medical stuff that I know nothing about.  His only problem is getting up and down from chairs, etc.  He has slept in the recliner the last couple of nights, afraid to try the bed, but he can go up and down stairs (slowly) and today he walked to the mailbox.  We are very thankful that he had this warning and had time to repair his heart before something happened suddenly.

It was a beautiful day today.  I cut his hair out on the deck this morning and then he rode along with me to the store so we did get out a little.  That made us both feel better!
Our son, DIL and grandchildren were here a week and they and our daughter were very faithful and a big help.  DIL cooked several meals so that I could be at the hospital and son and daughter stayed with me during the surgery and then visited with their dad whenever possible.  We are very blessed with great children and grandchildren.

I took very few pictures - but had to get a few of my girls -

N at the hospital waiting room during surgery.  DIL brought the girls up for a short time.

New pajamas.

B - caught by surprise.
